How Do I Know if The Full 10 Week Course is What I Need?

INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Marc E. Royster, Sr.

This course of study covers three areas:

  1. Hermeneutics – How To Study
  2. Homiletics – How To Deliver
  3. Apologetics – How To Defend

Taking the 10-week Applied Theology course ensures synchronization and continuity of comprehending and applying the instructions on interpreting, delivering, and defending the Holy Scriptures related to the Christian faith.

In essence, one course of study is immediately followed by the next. The learner will develop skills and knowledge on properly studying, understanding, and interpreting the written bible text (Hermeneutics).  The Hermeneutics course of instructions is immediately followed by learning, developing, and honing the skills of delivering the written biblical text via homilies, another term for teaching or preaching (Homelitcs).  Homiletics is not intended to teach one how to preach or teach but to develop skills, study habits, and spiritual insight to be more effective in the preaching or teaching moment. Homiletics is followed by helping the learner develop the informational knowledge and confidence for defending the biblical text.  Thus, given those mentioned above, the learner is highly encouraged to take the 16-week course if time and resources allow. Homiletics is followed by helping the learner develop the informational knowledge and confidence for defending the biblical text (Apologetics)
